# Fire & Security

Netavo provides alarm signalling, site connectivity and private mobile data for UK fire and security installers and monitoring providers. We deliver the network services behind protected sites, with signalling that supports existing alarm receiving centre arrangements.

## What the sector requires

An alarm needs a working route from the protected site to its receiving centre. Installers need to understand which paths are available at the panel's location and whether a fault on one leaves another usable. A backup path also needs verification while the primary path is still working.

Replacing legacy telephone signalling adds a migration requirement. The new service must be proven before the old line is ceased, with the installer and receiving centre involved in the handover. Across an estate, sites can differ in fixed access and mobile reception, so the path design needs to reflect each location.

- **Path resilience**: Alternative routes from the protected site
- **Fault visibility**: Verification of backup paths as well as primary paths
- **Monitoring continuity**: An agreed route to the existing receiving centre
- **Controlled migration**: New signalling proven before line cessation

## How we support it

Connectivity and signalling capabilities delivered for installers and monitoring providers.

| Requirement | How we meet it |
| --- | --- |
| Replacing copper-line signalling | Fire and intruder alarm signalling with up to four paths from a site |
| Alternatives to a failed fixed connection | Wired and wireless paths alongside two independent multi-network mobile SIMs |
| Identifying an unavailable backup path | Continuous verification of every signalling path and reporting of failed paths |
| Keeping receiving centre arrangements | Signalling integrated with the main UK alarm receiving centres |
| Connectivity at the protected site | Fibre and Ethernet access with mobile failover |
| Private connectivity for connected security equipment | Multi-network data SIMs with private addressing and a private route to central systems |
| Operating a mobile device estate | SIM activation, suspension and usage reporting through the portal or API |

## Planning the signalling paths

**The design starts at the protected site.** We establish which wired, wireless and mobile paths the location can support and confirm the receiving centre. The available paths determine the design; the same arrangement need not suit every building.

**Signalling and equipment have distinct roles.** Netavo provides the alarm transmission service and the connectivity used by connected equipment. Alarm panels, cameras and the systems that act on their information remain part of the installer's or equipment supplier's provision.

**Existing monitoring arrangements can be retained.** Integration with the main UK alarm receiving centres allows installers to change the transmission service while retaining the receiving centre and monitoring contract.

## A typical engagement

A typical engagement begins with an installer's estate of sites using legacy telephone signalling. We review the paths available at each location and agree the receiving centre arrangements with the installer. Sites move in phases alongside planned visits, with every new path proven before handover and the existing line retained until the replacement is live. Continuous path verification then provides visibility of transmission faults while the installer retains the customer relationship.
