# Signal Dynamic for alarm receiving centres

An alarm receiving centre connects to the Signal Dynamic network once. From then on it can receive signals from every Supervisor its installers fit, in the alarm management system it already runs, and offer the service to installers as part of its own.

## From the protected premises to your operators

![Diagram of an alarm signal travelling from the alarm panel through the Supervisor, over four paths to the Signal Dynamic network, and on to two gateways at the alarm receiving centre](https://netavo.com/images/signal-dynamic/signal-path.svg)

Signals arrive from the Supervisor at Signal Dynamic's datacentres and are passed to gateways running inside the alarm receiving centre.

## Connecting to the network

The Signal Dynamic network is private. An alarm receiving centre joins it over an IPSec tunnel across the internet, which suits a smaller centre, or over dedicated private fibre, which suits a larger one.

A centre that receives dual-path signalling maintains two separate connections to the network, so that the loss of one does not interrupt delivery.

- **IPSec**: An encrypted tunnel over the internet
- **Private fibre**: Dedicated MPLS connectivity
- **For dual-path signalling**: Two separate connections
- **Datacentres**: London and Manchester

## The gateway inside your centre

Signals are delivered by the Signal Dynamic gateway, a small application that runs within the alarm receiving centre and passes signals between the network and the alarm management system. It is supplied as a virtual machine image for the centre's own virtualisation platform, and is managed remotely by our network operations team.

A centre receiving dual-path signalling runs two gateways.

- **Supplied as**: A virtual machine image
- **Platforms**: VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V and Xen
- **Managed by**: Signal Dynamic, remotely
- **For dual-path signalling**: Two gateways

## Working with your alarm management system

| Question | Answer |
| --- | --- |
| Which alarm management systems are supported? | The leading systems, including Sentinel and Gemini, using standard line drivers |
| How are events delivered? | SIA DC-09 over IP |
| Which panel formats are carried? | Fast Format, Contact ID and SIA, as taken from the panel by the Supervisor |
| Which applications? | Intruder and fire |
| Where is the service available? | England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland |

## Offering it to your installers

Signal Dynamic is supplied to installers only by accredited partner alarm receiving centres, usually bundled with the centre's monitoring service. Your installers fit and commission the Supervisor and have direct access to our technical support, so the centre is not left answering questions about hardware.

The portal in which a centre and its installers see the state of every path can carry the centre's own name and branding.

- **Supplied to installers by**: Partner alarm receiving centres only
- **Installer support**: Direct from Signal Dynamic
- **Portal**: Under your own brand
- **Path faults**: Reported to the centre and the installer

## Becoming a partner

### 01 Technical onboarding

We agree how your centre will connect, by IPSec or private fibre, and install the gateways in your environment.

### 02 Testing

Signals are proven end to end, from a Supervisor through to your alarm management system, on each connection.

### 03 In service

Your installers begin fitting Supervisors, and each new site appears in your system and in the portal.

## Talk to us about your centre

Tell us which alarm management system you run and how many sites you monitor. We will explain what connecting to Signal Dynamic would involve.
