# Signal Dynamic Supervisor

The Signal Dynamic Supervisor is the signalling unit fitted at the protected premises. It connects to an intruder or fire alarm panel and sends its signals to the alarm receiving centre over as many as four paths, checking each of them continuously.

## Three models

Every model has the same panel connections, inputs and relays. They differ in the paths they provide.

| Model | Paths | Suited to |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Supervisor Core IP | Ethernet and Wi-Fi | Sites with a dependable fixed connection |
| Supervisor Core | Ethernet, Wi-Fi and one 4G mobile path | Sites needing a mobile path alongside the fixed connection |
| Supervisor Duo | Ethernet, Wi-Fi and two 4G mobile paths | Sites needing the highest resilience, with two independent mobile paths |

## Connections

The Supervisor Duo. The second 4G connection is on the Duo only, and the Core IP has no 4G connection.

## How it connects to the panel

The Supervisor is designed to work with the panel already on the wall. A panel with a digital communicator can be connected by dial capture: the Supervisor presents the line the communicator expects, and takes the signal in Fast Format, Contact ID or SIA. Panels with a serial connection can pass their events over RS232 or RS485, and any panel can drive the twelve digital inputs directly.

Three relays let the Supervisor signal back to the panel, for example to report a path fault.

- **Dial capture**: For panels with a digital communicator
- **Serial**: RS232, TTL or RS485
- **Digital inputs**: Twelve, wired from the panel's outputs
- **Relays**: Three, back to the panel

## Every path, checked all the time

Conventional signalling often discovers that a backup path has failed only when the primary path fails too. The Supervisor sends a check down every path about every thirty seconds and expects it to be answered, so a path that has stopped working is reported while there is still time to put it right.

The two mobile paths on the Duo each use a multi-network SIM, able to move to another mobile network if the first is unavailable.

- **Checked**: About every 30 seconds
- **Reported**: To the installer and the alarm receiving centre
- **Mobile paths**: Multi-network SIMs

## Ask about the Supervisor

Tell us about the panels you fit and the sites you protect, and we will explain how the Supervisor would connect to them.
