# IoT & Mobile Data

Netavo provides cellular connectivity for devices, vehicles and remote assets, anywhere in the world. Our SIMs connect to more than one network in each country, including all four in the UK, and run on our own mobile core.

## Global multi-network coverage

A device that depends on a single mobile network is only as reliable as that network's coverage at the place it happens to be installed. Our SIMs are not tied to one operator. In each country they can attach to more than one network, selecting another when the first is unavailable.

In the United Kingdom that means all four mobile networks on a single SIM. Elsewhere it means multi-network access in countries around the world, so one SIM and one agreement can serve a fleet deployed across many markets.

- **United Kingdom**: All four mobile networks
- **Worldwide**: Multi-network access around the world
- **Network selection**: Policy set for each fleet
- **One SIM**: The same SIM in every market

All four UK mobile networks on one SIM: EE, O2, Three, Vodafone

## Our own mobile core

Our SIMs run on our own mobile core. Rather than leaving device traffic on a mobile operator's internet service, we bring it from the operators' radio networks into our network, where addressing, routing and security policy are ours to set.

That control is what allows us to design a service around a requirement rather than offer a fixed product. How a fleet is addressed, which networks it uses and the route it takes to its destination are all agreed with you.

- **Mobile core**: Our own
- **SIMs**: Managed on our platform
- **Addressing**: Private or public, static or dynamic
- **Policy**: Set per SIM, or per fleet

## Internet access, or a private network

A SIM can simply connect a device to the internet, or a whole fleet can be placed on a private network of its own.

| Service | How it works | Typical use |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Standalone internet access | Each SIM provides a direct internet connection, with a public or private address as required | Individual devices, failover for a fixed line, temporary sites |
| Private SIM network | A fleet of SIMs on a private MPLS network, with no exposure to the public internet | Device fleets reporting to central systems |

## Private access to your fleet

A private SIM network is reached privately as well. Traffic to and from the fleet can be delivered over an encrypted tunnel, directly into a cloud environment, or onto a corporate WAN already in place, so devices and the systems they serve share one private network end to end.

No device requires a public address, and none needs to run a VPN of its own.

- **IPSec**: An encrypted tunnel to your own network
- **Cloud interconnect**: Direct into AWS or Azure
- **Corporate WAN**: Joined to an existing MPLS network
- **Fixed sites**: Alongside fibre and Ethernet on one network

## SIM and service options

The options a fleet typically requires, set per SIM or per group of SIMs.

| Option | How it works |
| --- | --- |
| SIM formats | eSIM delivered by QR code, or physical SIMs in standard and industrial MFF2 formats |
| Data | Allowances per SIM, or pooled across a fleet |
| Addressing | Private addressing as standard, static or dynamic; public static addresses available |
| Network selection | Steering policy set for each fleet |
| Management | Activation, suspension and usage reporting for each SIM in the portal |
| Integration | The same controls available through our API |

## How a fleet is delivered

### 01 Design

Coverage, data allowances, addressing and the route back to your systems are agreed around how the devices operate.

### 02 Deliver

SIMs and eSIM profiles are supplied inactive and activated as devices go live, so charges begin only in service.

### 03 Operate

Usage is monitored per SIM, allowances adjusted as the fleet grows, and SIMs suspended or ceased as equipment is retired.

## Common questions

### Which UK mobile networks do Netavo SIMs use?

A single Netavo SIM can use all four UK mobile networks: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone.

### Do Netavo SIMs work outside the UK?

Yes. Netavo SIMs provide multi-network access in countries around the world, so one SIM can serve a fleet deployed across many markets.

### Can devices be kept off the public internet?

Yes. A fleet can be placed on a private SIM network and reached over IPSec, by direct cloud interconnect into AWS or Azure, or through an existing corporate WAN. No device needs a public address.

### Does Netavo provide eSIM?

Yes. Netavo provides eSIM delivered by QR code, and physical SIMs in standard and industrial MFF2 formats.

### When do charges for a SIM begin?

SIMs and eSIM profiles are supplied inactive and activated as devices go live, so charges begin only when a SIM is in service.

### Can SIMs be managed through an API?

Yes. Activation, suspension and usage reporting are available in Netavo's portal and through its API.
