# Wholesale FTTP Broadband for ISPs, by L2TP

Netavo supplies wholesale broadband to ISPs, altnets and wireless operators who sell under their own brand. Lines from Openreach, CityFibre, KCOM and MS3 are handed to your network over L2TP, or terminated for you on Netavo's own BNG, and ordered, checked and diagnosed through our portal or API.

## Broadband under your brand, on your network

Most premises in the UK are reached by a national or regional access network, not by the ISP that sells the service. Wholesale broadband is how an ISP sells there anyway: the access network carries the line, and the subscriber's session is handed to the ISP to authenticate, address and serve.

Netavo buys access directly, including from Openreach as a communications provider, carries the sessions across its own core, and hands them to you. Your customers see your brand and your service; the access networks behind it are ours to deal with.

- **Access networks**: Openreach, CityFibre, KCOM and MS3
- **FTTP speeds**: Up to 2300M where available
- **Handover**: L2TP to your LNS
- **Or**: Terminated for you on Netavo BNG
- **Ordering**: Portal and API

## Two ways to take it

| Arrangement | Who terminates the subscriber | Suited to |
| --- | --- | --- |
| L2TP handover | You. Sessions arrive at your LNS over L2TP; your RADIUS authenticates and addresses them | ISPs with their own LNS or BNG, RADIUS and address space |
| White-label, with managed termination | Netavo, on its own BNG; addresses can be ours if you have none | ISPs who want to sell broadband without running subscriber termination |

## Where and how we hand over

| Point | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| London | Telehouse North and Telehouse East |
| Manchester | Pulsant Manchester |
| Port speeds | 1G, 10G and 100G |
| Protocol | L2TP, one session per subscriber line |
| Addressing | Yours, announced over BGP, or IPv4 and IPv6 provided by Netavo |

## Ordering and support through one interface

Whichever arrangement you choose, every line is managed the same way.

| Function | What you can do |
| --- | --- |
| Availability | Check what each access network can deliver to an address, including FTTP speeds |
| Ordering | Place orders from the partner portal or from your own systems by API |
| Line diagnostics | Test a line and see its state without raising a ticket |
| Fault handling | Faults raised with the access network by us, from our own systems |

## A direct relationship with Openreach

We deal with Openreach directly as a communications provider, and not through an intermediary. Orders, appointments and faults are placed from our own systems, so we see what Openreach sees and can act on it without delay.

In a number of exchanges we have also installed our own equipment. Lines served from these unbundled exchanges connect directly to our network.

- **Unbundled exchanges**: Our own equipment installed

## Who it suits

| Operator | Typical use |
| --- | --- |
| Regional and independent ISPs | National coverage beyond their own footprint, on the LNS they already run |
| Altnets | Filling the gaps outside their own build, so every customer can be served |
| Wireless ISPs | Fibre where it reaches, alongside fixed wireless where it does not |
| MSPs and IT providers | Business broadband under their own brand, white-label, without running a BNG |

## Common questions

### Which access networks does Netavo offer wholesale broadband from?

Netavo offers wholesale broadband from Openreach, CityFibre, KCOM and MS3, with FTTP up to 2300M where available.

### How is wholesale broadband handed over?

Netavo hands each subscriber's session to your network over L2TP, so your LNS and RADIUS authenticate and address it. Alternatively Netavo terminates the sessions for you on its own BNG.

### Where does Netavo hand over L2TP?

At Telehouse North and Telehouse East in London and at Pulsant Manchester, on 1G, 10G or 100G ports.

### Can we sell broadband white-label without running an LNS?

Yes. With managed termination your subscribers are terminated, authenticated and addressed on Netavo's own BNG, while the customer, the brand and the price stay yours.

### Can we check availability and order by API?

Yes. Availability checks, ordering and line diagnostics are available through the partner portal and Netavo's API.

### Do we need our own IP addresses?

No. An ISP with its own address space announces it over BGP; one without can be provided with IPv4 and IPv6 addresses by Netavo.
