# Download NetavoCheck

NetavoCheck runs the Connection Health Check from a Windows PC or a Mac and adds the checks a browser cannot run: the device’s network settings, Wi-Fi signal, DNS servers queried directly, pings to the router and traceroutes. It asks before sharing anything, then opens the same report as the web check.

Version 1.0.2, published 5 November 2026.

## Running NetavoCheck

### Windows

NetavoCheck is not yet code-signed, so the first time it runs Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”. Select **More info**, then **Run anyway**. Double-click the downloaded file and a window opens that runs the checks, which take a minute or two. It asks before uploading the results, then opens the report in your browser with its reference.

### macOS

Open the downloaded **NetavoCheck-macos.dmg**, then double-click **Netavo Check**. The first time, macOS asks whether to open an app downloaded from the internet: choose **Open**. A Terminal window opens that runs the checks, asks before uploading the results and then opens the report in your browser. You can also drag Netavo Check to Applications to keep it.

### Command-line options

NetavoCheck also runs from a command prompt or Terminal:

- `--sites a.com,b.com` tests the websites that are not working, as well as the usual list.
- `--json` prints the report as JSON instead of a summary.
- `--no-upload` runs the checks without offering to share them.

Compare a download’s SHA-256 with the value above to confirm it arrived intact: `certutil -hashfile NetavoCheck-windows-x64.exe SHA256` on Windows, or `shasum -a 256 NetavoCheck-macos.dmg` on a Mac.

### What It Collects

The device’s network adapters and their addresses, gateways and DNS servers; the Wi-Fi standard, band, channel and signal (not the network name); proxy settings and hosts-file entries; and the results of its DNS lookups, pings, packet-size tests and traceroutes. Nothing leaves the device until you agree to share it. A shared report can be opened by anyone with its reference for 7 days.

## No Download Needed to Start

The web check covers most connection problems and runs in any browser.
