Connection Health Check
Check the connection you are using now: IPv4 and IPv6, DNS, packet size, latency, and whether well-known websites answer. It runs in your browser, nothing is installed, and it takes about a minute. Each result is explained in plain English, and you can share the report with your provider or IT support under a reference.

Our analysis service could not be reached, so these are the measurements without conclusions. Run the check again in a few minutes to get them.
What the Check Covers
- IPv4 and IPv6. Whether the connection reaches our test servers over each, and which one the device prefers. IPv6 that is configured but does not work is a common cause of sites loading slowly or not at all.
- Packet size (MTU). Whether full-size packets reach the device. When they do not, small pages load but larger pages, downloads and VPNs stall. This is the same test as our MTU and CGNAT test.
- Latency, jitter and packet loss. A stream of small packets at the rate of a voice call, as in our ping test.
- DNS. Which DNS resolver the device really uses (which can differ from the one the router hands out), whether it asks for IPv6 addresses, whether it copes with large answers, and whether it rejects names with broken DNSSEC signatures.
- Websites. Whether well-known sites such as Microsoft 365, Google, GOV.UK and the main UK banks answer, and the sites you name. We also test the sites you name from our own network, which shows whether a site is down for everyone or only from this connection.
- Speed and load (optional). How much latency rises while the connection is busy, as in our bufferbloat test.
A browser cannot see the local network, so it cannot tell whether a problem is the Wi-Fi, the router or the line. For that, NetavoCheck adds the device’s network settings, Wi-Fi signal, DNS servers queried directly, pings to the router and traceroutes, and opens the same report.
Results describe this device, on this connection, at this moment. A check that cannot run is reported as such rather than as a fault.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Connection Health Check Install Anything?
No. The Netavo check runs in your web browser. The optional NetavoCheck app adds checks a browser cannot run, such as the local network, Wi-Fi and traceroutes.
Who Can See a Shared Report?
Anyone with the reference can open a shared Netavo report for 7 days. It includes your public IP addresses. Nothing is shared unless you select Share Results, and the person who shared it can delete it sooner from the same browser.
Why Does a Website Fail Here but Work Elsewhere?
The Netavo check tests from this device and this connection only. A site that fails here but works on mobile data usually points to the connection, its DNS or a filter on the network rather than the site itself.
